Covid-19 Health Surveillance


The health of the workforce during the pandemic and the post Covid-19 exit period needs to be constantly monitored and evaluated. Health Surveillance should be tailored to the individual organisation and their employees. It could range from questionnaires to monitoring the temperatures of employees arriving for work.

Audit should form part of a cycle of improvement whereby performance is measured against a set standard and then reviewed and changed as necessary. An example could be measuring the temperatures of individuals at work, where the system of measuring all employees could change to measuring only a sample of employees (such as those with significant pre-exisiting medical conditions). This could then be incorporated into the organisation’s policy.
