Medico Legal reports that are helpful with clear constructive advice.
Law firms represent their clients in much the same manner as doctors, by acting in the best interests of their clients. Accordingly, when asking for medical reports they want something more than simply a report that states the medical facts. They want an opinion in order to ascertain the strength of their case.
Templar Medical provide a number of reports to lawyers including:
1. Preliminary telephone advice on a case.
2. A preliminary report in order for lawyers to advise their clients on the potential merit of their case, be it strong or weak.
3. A full comprehensive report.
At all stages we are available to discuss the case at no additional charge.
David has particular experience in cases involving the military and is well positioned to advise with regard to duty of care issues due to his knowledge of military medical systems and processes. As a judge for the Medical Practitioner’s Tribunal Service (MPTS) of the General Medical Council (GMC), Appraiser for doctor’s revalidation and an Educational Supervisor he is well placed to consider doctor’s fitness to practice issues.
Having studied for and completed the GDL and LLB, David has an insight into the legal dimensions of a case as well as the medical ones.
David is a member of the Society of Doctors in Law (SODIL), and the Inner Temple of the Inns of Court. He is currently enrolled on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC).

Dr David Carey’s expertise from his former position as Surgeon Commander with the Royal Navy at the Institute of Naval Medicine is invaluable. His concerns that service personnel should receive the best medical and occupational care, are reflected in his expert opinion, soundly based on long professional service. Dr Carey is very approachable and he is happy to provide an early informal opinion, which can be invaluable from a medico-legal point of view.
